Peer Review Process
Mishkat: Journal of Theology and Civilization implements a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic integrity of all published manuscripts.
Initial Evaluation
All submitted manuscripts are first evaluated by the editorial team to determine their suitability with the journal’s aims and scope, formatting requirements, and ethical standards. Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be rejected without external review.
Double-Blind Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial evaluation are sent to at least two independent reviewers. The identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed throughout the review process to ensure impartiality and objectivity.

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on the following criteria:
- Originality and contribution to knowledge
- Relevance to the journal’s scope
- Theoretical and methodological rigor
- Clarity of argumentation and presentation
- Quality of references and academic writing
- Ethical compliance
Editorial Decision
Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editorial team may decide to:

- Request major revisions
- Reject the manuscript
The final decision regarding publication rests with the Editor-in-Chief.
Revision Process
Authors are expected to revise their manuscripts according to reviewers’ comments and resubmit the revised version within the timeframe specified by the editorial office.
Review Timeline
The average review process takes approximately 2–8 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and the complexity of the manuscript.
Publication Integrity
The journal is committed to maintaining fairness, confidentiality, transparency, and academic integrity throughout the peer-review process.
