Author Guidelines

Societa: Journal of Society and Change welcomes original research articles, review articles, conceptual papers, and case studies that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in society, culture, governance, social transformation, and interdisciplinary social sciences and humanities. Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another journal or publisher.

Manuscript Language

The journal accepts manuscripts written in English. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the language used is academically appropriate, clear, coherent, and grammatically accurate.

Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx) and generally range between 5,000 and 8,000 words, including references, tables, and figures. Authors are encouraged to use the journal template and ensure consistency in formatting throughout the manuscript.

Manuscript Structure

1. Title

The title should accurately reflect the content of the manuscript and clearly indicate the focus of the study. Authors are encouraged to use concise, informative, and specific titles that avoid unnecessary abbreviations.

2. Author Information

This section should include the full name of each author, institutional affiliation, country, ORCID ID (if available), and email address. The corresponding author should be clearly identified.

3. Abstract

The abstract should provide a concise summary of the study, including the background, objectives, methodology, findings, and conclusions. It should be written in a single paragraph and contain approximately 150–250 words.

4. Keywords

Authors should provide three to five keywords representing the primary concepts discussed in the manuscript. Keywords should be specific and relevant to facilitate indexing and discoverability.

5. Introduction

The introduction should explain the background of the study, identify the research problem, present relevant literature, highlight the research gap, and state the objectives and significance of the study. Authors should clearly demonstrate the novelty and contribution of their research.

6. Research Method

This section should clearly describe the research design, approach, participants, instruments, data collection procedures, and analytical methods used in the study. For review or conceptual papers, authors should explain the analytical framework and procedures employed.

7. Results and Discussion

The results and discussion section should present the research findings and critically analyze them in relation to the research objectives, theoretical framework, and previous studies. Authors are encouraged to provide original insights and discuss the practical, social, and theoretical implications of their findings.

8. Conclusion

The conclusion should summarize the principal findings of the study and emphasize their academic and practical implications. This section should directly address the research objectives and may include recommendations for future research.

9. Acknowledgements (Optional)

Authors may acknowledge individuals, institutions, funding agencies, or organizations that contributed to the research but do not qualify for authorship.

10. References

All sources cited in the manuscript must be included in the reference list. References should follow APA 7th Edition guidelines and primarily consist of scholarly and relevant sources. Authors are encouraged to use recent literature and high-quality academic sources relevant to the study.

Citation and Reference Style

The journal adopts the APA 7th Edition citation style. Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote, or RefWorks to ensure citation accuracy and consistency.

Tables and Figures

Tables and figures should be clearly labeled, numbered consecutively, and referenced within the text. Authors must ensure that all visual materials are of high quality and contribute meaningfully to the presentation of research findings.

Originality and Academic Integrity

Submitted manuscripts must be original works and must not contain plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, or other forms of academic misconduct. All submissions may be screened using plagiarism detection software before entering the review process.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Usage

Authors may use artificial intelligence tools for language editing, grammar checking, literature organization, data management, or editorial assistance. However, authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, interpretation, and integrity of the content. Artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors. Any substantial use of AI tools should be disclosed appropriately in the manuscript.

Authorship

Only individuals who have made substantial contributions to the conception, design, execution, analysis, or interpretation of the study should be listed as authors. All authors must approve the final version of the manuscript prior to submission.

Ethical Considerations

Research involving human participants, interviews, surveys, observations, community engagement, or other forms of social data collection must comply with applicable ethical standards and institutional regulations. Authors should disclose ethical approval, informed consent procedures, conflicts of interest, and funding sources where relevant.

Submission Procedure

Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system. Authors are responsible for ensuring that all metadata, including author information, abstracts, keywords, references, and supplementary files, are complete and accurate prior to submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
